The Arizona softball team defeated Cal State-Fullerton 10-6 last night to open the Coca-Cola Classic at the Cave Creek Sports Complex in Phoenix.
Arizona (3-0) got four runs in each of the first two innings to take an 8-0 lead on the Titans (2-1).
Shortstop Laura Espinoza went 2-for-4 with two RBI, second baseman Jenny Dalton was 2-for-5 with a solo homer in the first inning and freshman Alison Johnsen was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Nancy Evans (2-0) pitched a seven-inning complete game for the Wildcats, allowing 12 hits and striking out five.
Arizona continues today against Utah this morning and this afternoon against UNLV, one of the three teams to beat the Wildcats last year.
