Police are investigating an attempted sexual assault that occurred Jan. 28 in Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1000 N. Park Ave.

The 18-year-old victim, a resident of the hall, reported the incident to police Feb. 17.

According to University of Arizona Police Department Sgt. Brian Seastone, the victim said the assault happened in the suspect's room, also a resident of the dormitory. She said she went to the suspect's room at 2 a.m. after she had been drinking. She and the suspect began kissing and then she passed out.

She woke up in the suspect's bed at 6 a.m. and said some of her clothing had been removed. The suspect was also in the room but he was asleep on a couch.

Police are not sure whether any type of sexual assault actually occurred and they are investigating it as an attempted sexual assault.
