Williams benched due to eye injury

Arizona Daily Wildcat

An elbow to forward Corey Williams' left eye from teammate Joseph Blair during practice Monday has forced the junior out of action for both the Arizona men's basketball games this weekend.

Williams suffered a fracture of the medial orbital bone, the same injury and the same eye he injured as a freshman. He will miss Thursday's game in Pullman against Washington State and Saturday's contest against Washington. His condition will be evaluated Monday.

Williams started the first seven games of the season, and 17 of the Wildcats' 27 games overall. He is seventh on the team in scoring at 6.3 points per game, and averages 3.9 rebounds per game.
