The fifth-ranked Arizona women's tennis team might be smelling wet dog tommorrow afternoon if it can unleash a downpour on the Washington Huskies.
The UA is in the midst of one of its best seasons ever. It defeated the Huskies 9-0 last year in Tucson, and has won its last four meetings with Washington.
Arizona, which is ranked in the top five for the first time in school history, is coming off a split with the California schools. The UA lost to second-ranked UCLA 5-1, but rebounded with a 6-0 thrashing of 13th-ranked Southern Cal.
The Wildcats have an 11-3 record and are 4-2 in the Pacific 10 Conference. Last year, Arizona was 2-8 in the conference and 12-13 overall. The UA's highest-ranked individual player is No. 38 Eva Maria Schurhoff. In doubles, the Wildcats' top team of Vicky Maes and Schurhoff are ranked sixth in the country and have an impressive 11-1 dual match record.
Other Pac-10 schools in the rankings are the Bruins, third-ranked Stanford, seventh-ranked Arizona State, eighth-ranked Cal and the Trojans.
