The UA men's lacrosse club team will be facing one of their toughest opponents of the season this weekend.
Saturday night, the Laxcats will be in California to take on the Poets of Whittier College.
Last year, the two teams faced each other twice and Whittier defeated Arizona both times.
Since the two school began head-to-head play in 1985, the Laxcats have beaten the Poets just one time Ä in 1993. It was a very significant win for UA because it broke Whittier's 42 game win streak.
All week, the Laxcats have been practicing very hard. They have had a great week of practice in which the team has demonstrated much hard work and effort.
Even though Whittier looms as a big challenge for the Laxcats, coach Mickey-Miles Felton does not think the Poets are unbeatable.
Felton feels that he has spotted weaknesses in Whittier's game and he is hoping that the Laxcats can adjust to them.
It is important that Arizona plays well offensively. The key for them is to be quick and move the ball because Whittier's defense appears to be a little slow.
The primary concern for the Laxcats is Whittier's offense. They have the ability to be explosive and score many goals.
Also, UA still suffers has some key injuries on defense which could make the Poets ability to score even more of a threat.
Felton feels that his team definitely has the talent to play a very good game against Whittier. And he feels that if the Arizona game is on, they will come out on top.
