Arizona to compete in NCAA Region 8

The Division I men's tennis subcommittee has selected the University of Arizona to compete in the Region 8 regional. The winners of the eight regional will advance to Athens, Ga., to take part in the 1995 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships.

The eight teams already in the Championships are No. 1 seed Stanford (23-0), No. 2 seed Georgia (25-1), No. 3 seed Pepperdine (26-2), No. 4 seed UCLA (17-5), Louisiana State (19-3), Mississippi State (18-6), Southern Cal (14-7) and Texas (19-4).

Arizona, the sixth and final seed in region 8, will face No. 3 seed San Diego Friday at 10 a.m. The winner of the Arizona-San Diego match will take on No. 2 seed Nevada-Las Vegas Saturday at 10 a.m. All region 8 matches will take place in Los Angeles, hosted by UCLA.

The lineup for region 8 also includes:

No. 4 Washington (12-10) vs. No. 5 UC-Irvine (12-10) Sunday at 2 p.m.
