The official list of candidates who will be on the ballot for ASUA's general elections is in - and just two of the three presidential hopefuls will advance.

Julie Rice, with 39.11 percent of the vote, and Rhonda Wilson, with 33.08 percent, will advance as the presidential candidates.

"I'm happy. I'm glad so many students have so much confidence in me," Wilson said.

Rice said she is happy and very proud of her campaign staff and its hard work.

Steve Romero, with 43.25 percent, and Mindy McCollum, with 42.72 percent, will advance as the vice presidential candidates for programs and services.

Erin Russell, the only candidate for her position, will continue on as the vice presidential candidate for clubs and organizations.

All of the candidates for Undergraduate Senate whose names were on the ballot during the primaries will advance on to the generals.

Students' votes were counted last night by six people who were approved by the Central Coordinating Council.

Jennifer Haber, elections commissioner for the Associated Students, said 1,690 students voted during the primary elections Tuesday and yesterday.

Jim Bretney, the presidential candidate who did not advance, said, "Thank you - it was a fun ride while it lasted."

ASUA's final elections will be held Tuesday and Wednesday.

Students with a valid UA ID can vote at the Student Recreation Center, Park Center, Harvill Building, or in front of the Old Chemistry Building on the UA Mall.
