A female resident of Coronado Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., called police early Sunday morning after an unknown male entered her room and tried to get into bed with her.

The resident told police, at 1:15 a.m., she awoke to find the male leaning over her bed and staring at her.

He reportedly said "It's okay" and then attempted to lift the sheets.

Police reports stated she told him to go away and he then left the room.

The victim told police her door often does not shut correctly. She also said although the light was poor, she could identify the suspect if she sees him again.


Someone stole a student's 1983 Oldsmobile Coupe Tuesday from Lot 3113 at the corner of East Speedway Boulevard and North Mountain Avenue.

The student reportedly parked the car at 12:30 p.m. and returned at 2 p.m. to find it missing.

The stolen car is valued at $3,000.


University police logged multiple cases of automobile vandalism in the McKale Garage, 1641 E. Enke Drive, earlier this week.

Patrolling officers found a 1993 Ford Thunderbird's driver's-side window shattered at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday. The owner later called police and said nothing was removed from the vehicle.

The driver's-side window of a student's 1990 Ford Ranger also was shattered, between 12:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the same garage. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

The driver's-side window of another student's 1986 Toyota pickup was broken in the same garage between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday. Vandals reportedly stole a briefcase containing a wooden gavel from the truck. The value of the stolen items was unknown.


Patrolling officers arrested a UA student north of the intersection of East Sixth Street and North Highland Avenue after they smelled the odor of burning marijuana in the area.

Alexander J. Panagacos, 21, a resident of Apache-Santa Cruz Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., was holding a pipe to his mouth and lighting the contents when officers drove by him. Upon seeing the squad car, he tossed the pipe away, police reports stated.

Officers recovered the pipe and also found a "dugout" containing marijuana and a ceramic baton in the area.

Reports stated Panagacos later admitted to smoking marijuana. He was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and later released.

The drug paraphernalia was placed into evidence.


Four residents of Coronado Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., were arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol after patrolling officers found them lounging in the parking lot north of Coronado with a case of Keystone beer.

At 12:38 p.m. Tuesday, Erin Campbell, 18, Charles C. Walker, 19, Regan A. Witsell, 19, and Jennifer R. Zahn, 19, all admitted to drinking and were released at the scene, police reports stated.

Officers disposed of the remaining beer.


A resident of Delta Tau Delta fraternity was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol after a fellow fraternity brother called 911 Tuesday, fearing the arrestee was suffering from alcohol poisoning.

At 2:19 a.m., officers and Tucson Fire Department paramedics arrived to find Richard Goddard, 20, in a house bathroom with his finger in his throat, trying to gag himself.

He was cited for MIP and released at the scene. Medics advised his condition was not life-threatening but he should be watched overnight.
