The UA has named Bill Kinneberg the assistant coach of the Wildcat baseball team, Athletic Director Jim Livengood announced yesterday.

Kinneberg, who graduated from the UA in 1980, will coach the Wildcat pitching staff beginning this season.

Kinneberg will leave his position as the University of Utah's head coach, where the Utes were 30-22 last season. He was also pitching coach at Arizona State University in 1993 and 1994. ASU reached the College World Series both years.

Kinneberg was a pitcher on the 1979 Wildcat baseball team that advanced to the College World Series.
