Four UA students were victims of an apparent hoax in which someone claiming to represent KAMP student radio offered a free trip for two to a UA-USC basketball game in February.
The first victim said he received a phone call on Dec. 2 from a man who offered two round-trip tickets to the University of Arizona vs. University of Southern California basketball game if he answered three trivia questions.
The caller asked who was the starting guard for the UA basketball team, who is on the box of "Frosted Flakes" and who is the female star of "Baywatch." The victim answered only two questions, but was told he won and was instructed to pick up the tickets. He was later informed by KAMP officials that the largest prize they use is a compact disc and that this call was a hoax.
Another victim was called about 9 p.m. on Dec. 6 by someone claiming to be a member of KAMP radio and offered the prize if she answered two questions. The victim answered the two questions and was told to pick up her prize at KAMP headquarters "near Louie's."
The victim said the caller could not explain where KAMP radio was located and said they were on the air. The caller told the victim to pick up the tickets. The victim was told by KAMP officials it was a hoax.
KAMP officials told police they do not know who is playing the prank.

A UA student reported her sorority pin was stolen. The victim said the pin was last seen in her wallet on Monday about 9 p.m. at her sorority house. A security officer returned the wallet to her the next morning, but the pin was missing. The pin's estimated worth is $75 to $100.

A UA employee reported his McKale Garage permit was stolen between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday in the garage. The victim said access was gained by pulling the driver's side window outward. The permit is estimated to be worth $240.
Police have no suspects.

A UA student reported his $65 denim jacket was stolen from his residence hall room. He saw the jacket on Nov. 26 about 5 p.m. in his locked room when he left for vacation. The jacket was missing when he returned Nov. 28. There were no signs of forced entry.
Police have no suspects.

A UA student reported her 1990 Dodge Shadow was stolen between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday from the south side of Coronado Residence Hall. The car was locked and there were no signs of forced entry.
Police have no suspects.

A UA student reported his burgundy specialized Jumper 18-speed mountain bicycle was stolen from the west side of the Architecture building between 10 a.m. and 5:12 p.m. on Wednesday. The bicycle was worth $1,500 and a padlock and chain are estimated at $30.
Police have no suspects.
