Three vacancies on the Graduate and Professional Student Council will be filled in a special election next Wednesday.
The spots are for one representative from each of three constituencies. Those departments are humanities, social and behavioral sciences and non-degree seeking students.
Students in the humanities and social and behavioral sciences departments can vote through the secretary in their department on Wednesday, according to Mike Harter, ASUA elections commissioner.
It was still uncertain yesterday where non-degree students would vote. Carolina Deschapelles, GPSC elections commissioner, could not be reached for comment.
Mitzi Forbes, GPSC president, said the positions became available after two resignations and one vacancy that has been open since the beginning of the year.
The non-degree seeking student seat is one of three seats in that constituency. The seat has been vacant since the general election, where only two of the seats were filled.
The humanities seat was held by William Aylward and the social and behavioral sciences seat was held by Charlene Melcher until they resigned earlier this year, Forbes said.
Any further vacancies on the council this year can be filled by appointment instead of through another election, she said.
Applicants for each position are required to complete a candidate form by Monday. The forms are available at ASUA and in each department, Harter said.
