Short analogies are often helpful when trying to explain complicated situations. For example, the analogy of shield is to warrior as Provost Sypherd is to President Pacheco Ä helps explain the reasoning behind Sypherd's comments during the recent week. Previously, Sypherd stated that he, along with Dr. Pacheco, would make the final cutback decisions. However, Sypherd stood boldly alone this week when the decisions were finally made. Now the Daily Wildcat is relentlessly attacking Provost Sypherd, yet Pacheco hasn't been mentioned. Instead of throwing stones at the shield, the student body should take aim at the warrior.
