Police are looking for a man who they believe stole $20 from a student by making the student think he was carrying a gun.
The student told police he was walking to his car at Kappa Alpha, 906 N. First St., when the man asked him for a "jump start." The suspect then got into the student's Jeep without permission and
asked the student for money. The student gave the man $2, but when the man saw a $20 bill in the wallet, he asked for that instead.
The student refused to give the money to the man, but the man asked for it again, saying he "had to go to Mexico to give some friends deer meat."
The suspect then told the student, "I guess I will have to get the money the old Cryp way." The student said the man then put both hands into his jacket pockets and made a gesture "with his hands or guns" from under his shirt.
The student told police he decided not to take a chance and gave the man the money. The suspect then fled northbound down an alley while yelling "unknown words."
The student completed a composite sketch of the suspect. He is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair in dreadlocks. He is 20- to 30-years old, about 6-feet 2-inches tall, and 240 pounds. He was wearing a light flannel shirt jacket, blue shorts and a Miami Dolphins baseball cap.

Students reported that a man was distributing disturbing letters in the Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd., Wednesday.
The students told police they were sitting in the Cafe Sonora restaurant at 4:45 p.m. when the man approached them and placed four copies of the letter on the table. The man said nothing to the students.
In the letter, titled "My Fellow Americans," the man asks people to assist him in killing certain mayors, entertainers, police officers, sports figures, fashion models and politicians.
The students said they did not want to press charges, but wanted to inform police of the situation. A copy of the police report and the letter are being forwarded to the FBI.
Witnesses described the subject as a white male at least 6-feet tall, between 30- and 40-years old with short "salt and pepper" hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a white hat, a long sleeved shirt and shorts. He was carrying a white grocery bag.
Police believe this incident is related to an Oct. 26 incident in which similar letters were left at the Center for Computing and Information Technology.
