Two red overstuffed cloth upholstered chairs valued at $600 each were stolen from the Kappa Sigma fraternity house early Saturday morning.

The chapter's president reported that between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m., someone removed the two chairs from a television room at the house, 1423 E. First St. The theft was not reported until Monday because the president checked with other fraternities first to make sure the theft was not a prank.

The building usually is locked, however, no signs of forced entry were observed.

A professor reported the theft of a metal chair from her office in the Franklin Building, 1011 E. Fifth St., Tuesday.

The woman said she saw the chair in the office at 12:30 p.m. Monday, but when she returned to work at 8:30 a.m., the chair was gone.

The woman showed officers a bare spot in the office where she said the chair used to be. The chair is described as a metal-framed four legged chair with a vinyl seat and back.

The door to the office was locked, however there were no signs of forced entry.

The value of the chair was not known.

An employee discovered damage to an elevator at the Warren tunnel, 1695 E. Speedway Blvd., Tuesday.

The elevator shop employee showed police the damage, including two small dents on the exterior door, scratches on the interior door, and a dried urine mark on the floor of the elevator. The roof grate of the elevator car was also partially removed.

The dollar amount of the damage was unknown.

A student room at Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., reportedly was burglarized Monday and 65 compact discs were stolen.

The room's resident said he left for class at 11 a.m. Monday. When he returned at 4 p.m., the compact disks and two storage cases were gone.

The roommate said when he returned to the room earlier, he found the door open and $10 missing from a desk. The roommate's compact discs were still in the room, but the owner said he did not suspect his roommate. There were no signs of forced entry.

The value of the missing items is estimated at $1,125.
