Wall extravagance for budget-tight UA

Editor:

The photograph on Page 1 of the Oct. 26 Wildcat is a clever promotion for the university, showing as it does the Spanish colonial architecture of Taco Bell together with the new $20,000 wall which advertises the University of Arizona.

The wall is a highly inappropriate extravagance for an organization which claims to have budget problems, especially when the view at the corner of Speedway and Campbell includes no university property. The idea of building six more walls is ridiculous.

To recover some of the wasted money, the university could sell picture postcards featuring this photograph. Students could use them when writing home to ask for more money for tuition and lab fees.
