Twenty to 30 shots were fired at a local restaurant early Wednesday morning, witnesses said.

University of Arizona police responded to Jack-in-the-Box, 934 E. Speedway Blvd., after a motorist stopped an officer to report the incident.

It is unknown if anyone was injured or if there was any damage.

University police assisted Tucson police at the scene and located a witness who said she knew one of the people who shot at the restaurant. Tucson police stopped a suspect vehicle at North Park Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard, and the witness was able to positively identify one of the suspects.

Tucson police, however, were forced to respond to two other shots fired calls in the city and did not take the suspect into custody, according to University police reports.

A new $3,088 Intel computer that had not even been removed from its shipping box was stolen from the Nugent building at 1212 E. University Blvd.

Employees reported that the box containing the computer, which was left unsecured in a hallway, was taken sometime between Friday and Tuesday.

$1,520 worth of car stereo equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked in McKale Garage Wednesday.

At 1:30 a.m., a student parked his 1988 Hyundai on the south side of the second floor of the garage at 1641 E. Enke Dr. At 6:45 a.m., he received a call from Parking and Transportation Services stating that his car appeared to have been broken into.

When police arrived, the vehicle's trunk was open, the rear right window was shattered and all four doors were unlocked.

The wires on the equipment, which included a CD changer, two amplifiers, speakers and a subwoofer, were cleanly cut.

No clean fingerprints were found on the scene.

A turquoise 3-speed mountain bike was stolen from the vicinity of McClelland Hall, 1130 E. Helen St., Monday.

A student secured the $100 bike to a parking block on the south side of the building at 9:40 a.m. When she returned at noon, the bike was missing.
