A student was taken to the hospital Sunday with head wounds after a fight in a bar parking lot.

The student was found lying in the parking lot of Hutch's bar, 1028 E. 6th Street, with a large amount of blood coming from the back of his head.

A friend that was with him reported that while leaving another bar, the victim made some comments regarding homosexuals. She said that apparently four men they were passing thought he was talking to them.

The victim and the four men got into a verbal altercation. The victim and his friend then left the scene and proceeded to Hutch's, where the same four men were waiting for them.

Three of the men watched as a fourth individual and the victim fought.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center. He had several puncture wounds to the back of the head and some amnesia about the details of the incident. He was treated and released.

The four men were in a black Honda Accord. The assailant is a 5-foot-7, 175-pound African American male with a muscular build. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and has short dark hair.

A resident of Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall came into the lobby hysterical Saturday, claiming she could not remember what exactly had happened to her.

She said that she left an Alpha Tau Omega fraternity party around 12:30 a.m. She reported that she had a lot to drink, but she did not think the alcohol was a factor in her inability to remember the evening's events.

On the way home she became scared and panicky. The student ran into the lobby of the residence hall, 910 E. 5th Street, screaming and falling down.

She told police that she did not know whether she had been raped, but did not "feel right" for some reason.

The student was taken to UMC for a rape examination. She also was tested to see if she had been slipped any kind of drug.
