Police responded to a report of a student with a firearm in his residence hall room Thursday.
The hall director at Hopi Residence Hall, 1440 E. 4th St., called police after he learned from a resident that another resident had a firearm in his room.
The hall director told police the weapon was reported to be a Lorsin model L-25 .25-caliber pistol, but it was missing parts and was inoperable.
Police went to the room, but there was no answer at the door. The officer asked the resident assistant to contact police the next time the room's owner is seen.
The officer also recommended that the police report be forwarded to the Dean of Students Office and the Department of Residence Life for possible code of conduct and policy violations.

A UA-owned trailer was reported stolen from the Sunnyside Junior High School UA site at 250 W. Valencia Dr.
An employee called police to report the theft, but said he did not know when the trailer was taken, although it was discovered missing on Wednesday.
The trailer is a yellow, 30-foot-long "Green" brand flatbed trailer, bearing state vehicle license plate SA-3554. It is valued at $6,000.

Two bicycles were reported stolen from the bicycle racks in the 800 block of East Fifth Street, across from Coronado Residence Hall.
The first victim went to check on his black and yellow Giant Cadex mountain bike at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and discovered it was gone. His U-lock was found on the ground and appeared to have been broken with a crowbar. The bicycle and lock are valued at $1,400.
The second victim said she locked her Diamond Back Wild Woods mountain bike with a U-lock at an unknown time Thursday morning. When she returned at 9 a.m. the same day, the bicycle and U-lock were gone. The loss is valued at $308.12.

A student reported the theft of his bicycle from the west side of the Gittings Building, 1713 E. University Dr., Thursday.
The student locked his teal Diamond Back Traverse mountain bike to a rack on the west side of the building with a "heavy type dog chain." After an hour and a half, at 12 p.m., he returned to find the bike and chain missing.
The bicycle is valued at $280.

A Hewlett Packard printer was stolen from McClelland Hall, 1130 E. Helen St.
A student called police Wednesday to report that the printer, which is owned by the University of Arizona, was stolen.
The printer was locked to a desk in an unsecured area near room 405 at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. When the student returned to the area at 8 a.m. the next morning, the printer was gone and the cable was cut.
The loss is estimated at $400.
