In the first of two Pacific 10 Conference games over the weekend, the Wildcat women's soccer team suffered its second straight setback Friday and with their loss to the University of Washington 3-1.

The Wildcats are now at the bottom of the conference with a Pac-10 record of 0-2. UA is now 3-3 overall.

Things started for the Wildcats early as they scored first when freshman Nicki Jones got a pass from Kelley Keve and took an 18-yard shot that caught the left hand corner of the goal. Jones scored her team-leading fourth goal and the Wildcats had a 1-0 lead.

UW countered with two goals in the first half and one in the second half to secure the victory. Terry Gleason scored a goal and had the game-winning assist for the Huskies. The two Husky goals in the first half came within two minutes of each other.

The Huskies had more than double the shots on goal as they ripped 25 shots at goalie Jen Weibel. UA only had 12 shots on goal.

The Wildcats took on Washington State yesterday but the results were not available at press time. UA head coach Lisa Fraser returned to Pullman where she coached the Cougers for five years from 1989-93.

The Wildcats will be in action Thursday against the Oregon State Beavers at Pima Community College's West Campus at 3:00 p.m.
