A UA student reported being harassed by her ex-boyfriend early Tuesday at the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity house, 503 E. University Blvd.

The student told police she was visiting friends in the front room of the fraternity house when there was a knock at the door. A fraternity member answered the door and the student's former boyfriend entered, police said.

According to police, a confrontation resulted and the ex-boyfriend, who was not a fraternity member, ran up the stairs to the second floor.

Fraternity members searched the house for the man and found him hiding in an upstairs shower stall, police said. The student told police she then slapped him across the face and "kicked him out" of the house.

The student said she felt threatened by her former boyfriend's actions because she thought he may have followed her over to the fraternity house, police said. The student placed a restraining order on the man in 1993, but had it lifted in January of this year.

The student said she is willing to prosecute her former boyfriend for harassment and the fraternity members said they are willing to prosecute for criminal tresspassing, police said.
