As I pressed my face against the barroom window in the rain, hoping against hope for a glimpse of HIM, I knew I might have a problem. I had been in Seattle for nearly a week, all of Spring Break, and no sign of John Corbett. He lives there after all. Most non-fans know John as "Chris in the morning" from "Northern Exposure."

Seattle is grunge city, Nirvana and, the place to be in the '90s, but what did I care? I had been in town for five days, five days of walking, shopping and looking at the sights with my girlfriends Rebecca and Dana, who I had come to see, but no John, in the morning, or any other time.

There had been sightings however. My girlfriend Rebecca's boyfriend Daniel used to work at a restaurant where Rob Morrow (Dr. Joel Flieshman, I can't believe I have to explain this to you?!) used to come in each evening at 5 p.m. for sushi and mineral water. It was no John Corbett, but I felt closer to him somehow. No one, and I mean no one, loves him more than I do.

And then there was the time that Rebecca actually saw John in a clothing store in Seattle's Fremont Neighborhood. He was with some short blond chick. They were in a vintage store and she was trying on old dresses for him as he reclined on an antique couch. Rebecca said he was huge, tall, you know. I don't care. Rebecca doesn't understand my love for him. John, I can bleach my hair blond! I'm short too!

Did I tell you Dana knows someone whose sister dated him when he lived in North Carolina? WOW! I was getting closer.

Rebecca knew where John has a pied-a-terre downtown, we drove by. He didn't come out and Rebecca whizzed by so fast that I couldn't get out. She mumbled something about "_for my own good." I almost said, "Look Bitch, seeing Chris is for my own good. You got that meal-ticket?" But, I didn't say that because she was taking me to Rosalyn, Washington the next day. That is where they film_ "NORTHERN EXPOSURE!"

But they weren't filming there the day we went. If I could have extended my Spring break for one more week they were going to be back filming on March 23rd and 24th. I said I was staying. That was when Rebecca locked the car doors on me, but not before I went into Ruthann's store, had a beer at the Brick and peeked into the KBHR radio set. It was the happiest day of my life.

So by day, I went to Pike Place Market (it is full of fish, enough said), went to the Space Needle, and other places. You would think that I would have seen at least one "N.E." star. Don't they ever have relatives visiting? Celeste Franklin, my tour guide for the Underground Seattle Museum said she had John on one of her tours once. She said "he had an attitude." What does she know, anyway?

Because Rebecca and Dana love me, and want the best for me, they took me to the Fenix Underground, the bar John owns. It was Saint Patrick's Day and the place was packed. There were a lot of bimbos there looking for Johnny (I started calling him that), but being prettier and more sophisticated than the others, I knew he would pick me out. 9, 10, 11, 12 and no John. Rebecca was telling me that she had to work the next day and she lived far from the bar. I had no money for a cab so I had to go without meeting the man of my dreams. She, Dana and Daniel pulled me out of the bar.

I did everything but go through the man's garbage. I couldn't find it. But Johnny, I am undaunted, we are meant to be together like in "Sleepless in _" Read Next Article
