Police arrested and charged a 49-year-old pharmacist from UA Student Health Services Thursday with one count of fraudulent schemes after an investigation showed he was removing drugs from the UA pharmacy.
Police arrested John Mahoney, of the 2300 block of East Calle Los Altos, after he admitted to taking drugs from the pharmacy, repackaging them and shipping them to an Arivaca clinic through another Tucson drug store. He admitted to getting money from the clinic.
JohnsonÕs supervisor became suspicious when she saw him deleting numbers from the pharmaceutical stocks and repackaging drugs into single use quantity containers. She said she was unaware of any business that the UA pharmacy was doing with one in Arivaca.
Police are still investigating.

Police arrested two non-students early Friday morning after they allegedly assaulted a resident assistant at Coronado Residence Hall after he asked them to leave.
Police arrested Michael Hipple, 19, of the 5900 block of East Placita Alta Reposa, and Carlos Cassler, 18, of the 3700 block of West Ironwood Hills, after following their vehicle as it pulled away from Coronado.
The resident assistant told police he and another resident assistant found the men on the eighth floor of the hall without an escort from the hall. When the men were told they needed an escort or would have to leave the hall, the men became verbally abusive.
While escorting the men out of the hall one resident assistant said he was intimidated and pushed by one of the men.
Hipple and Cassler were arrested and taken to Pima County Jail for processing.

Police responded to a call Saturday night of shots being fired at a house party on the 1000 block of East Drachman Boulevard.
Witnesses at the party said when four men were refused entrance to the party, they pulled a gun and placed the barrel into the chest of one of the people at the door.
Witnesses said the men then backed away and fired several shots into the air.
Police found two .380 caliber casings at the scene. They have no suspects.

An 18-year-old student was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a spirituous liquor Saturday night after police stopped her for driving without her lights on.
Elizabeth Johnson, of the 1100 block of North Mountain Avenue, was seen driving south on North Euclid Avenue near East University Boulevard without her headlights.
Police reported that they could smell a moderate odor of alcohol coming from Johnson. She told them she drank two shots of tequila and some wine earlier in the evening.
Johnson was cited and released.
