Carl also asked Lupien to try to set up a meeting between the two sides or have the corporation prepare a statement if they are not willing to talk. Lupien said he would do what he could.

"I will go to work on this immediately," he said. "I'm not going to give you a bunch of lies. We don't want that and neither do you."

The demonstrators then left the property peacefully. No arrests were made.

Bacon, the communications director, said Schaefer was going out of town, but he believed a copy of the resolution was delivered to Schaefer's office.

"(Schaefer) is going to possibly talk about it (with SEAC) at some later date," Bacon said.

Just over a year ago, on April 4, 1994, 20 SEAC members entered the Research Corporation offices to protest the Mt. Graham project. Two protestors locked themselves to a door with bicycle U-locks, and four were arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct.

After last year's protest, a restraining order was put into effect prohibiting anyone identifying themselves as a a friend of the group from returning to the company. That restraining order is no longer in effect.
