Geosciences professor hits jackpot

Arizona Daily Wildcat

While professor's salaries across the nation barely keep up with inflation, one faculty member at the UA is getting an extra $7.3 million from the state.

Geosciences professor Ed McCullough will be making $242,360 a year for the next 20 years Ä and that's after taxes.

He was the only person to match all six numbers in the Arizona Lottery's LOTTO drawing Wednesday.

McCullough bought his ticket from the Circle K store at 1610 E. Sixth St, just across from Arizona Stadium.

He would not comment on his winnings.

Wednesday's winning numbers were 1, 8, 23, 30, 35 and 37.
