Police were called by a supervisor at the campus Facilities Management division, 1200 E. Lowell St., to investigate claims of police violence made by an employee of the division.
The plant operator told police the 48-year-old employee was telling other workers that police were "raping and killing" people at the plant.
The employee told officers he had often seen "cops" come to the power plant and "rape and kill" individuals and then take away the bodies and clean up any incriminating evidence.
Officers noted that as the employee recalled the events, the stories became increasingly bizarre, including incidents where he had taken policemen's badges and fought with them, cutting them with knives and receiving "massive" wounds himself.
Police found no scars on the employee and only noticed a small mark next to his right eye that he said he got when an officer threw acid in his face.
He could not give any specific names of officers but did include the Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Office, Tucson Police Department, University of Arizona Police and private security guards in his accusations.
The police contacted the Southern Arizona Mental Health Center, which sent a counselor to talk to the employee.
He was admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital for evaluation.

A UA employee reported the theft of his silk plant Tuesday from his office at 1017 N. Olive Road.
The victim told police he kept the $40 plant on top of a 7-foot bookcase in his office. He described the plant as green with long leaves covering an area of about 3 feet. Also missing is the round woven basket he kept the plant in.
The victim said he keeps his office locked at all times and does not know who could have stolen the plant. Nothing else in the office was missing.
