The Arizona softball team (8-0) won the Coca-Cola Classic tournament yesterday with a 7-1 win over Florida State at the Cave Creek Sports Complex in Phoenix.
Carrie Dolan (4-0) took care of the Seminoles, allowing the Wildcats to sweep the tournament with six wins since Thursday. Shortstop Laura Espinoza hit her third homer of the year.
Junior second baseman Jenny Dalton continued her power hitting with two fly balls to the fence, including a sacrifice fly that drove in two runs. Dalton tied an NCAA single-game record on Saturday with three home runs against Illinois State.

The Wildcats are on a roll. This past Saturday, the Arizona men's swim team beat arch rival Arizona State. The victory is the first ever for the UA against ASU.
The Wildcats came to Tempe and defeated the Sun Devils 137-106. All-American Chad Carvin led the Wildcats with a first in the 500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle and the 200 individual medley. Freshman Trever Grey made his presence known with an impressive time in the 200 backstroke. Junior Jason Hodder won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.76. The team of Gray, Robert Abernethy, Martin Pepper and Abe Wick squashed the competition with a first in the 400 medley relay.

Because they were playing on the big island of Hawaii, it's only fitting that the Arizona baseball team erupted.
After losing Friday night's series opener to the University of Hawaii-Hilo, 5-4, the Wildcats (7-8) scored 17 runs in each game of Saturday's doubleheader to grab two victories Ä 17-3 and 17-10.
Arizona starter Ben White suffered the loss on Friday to fall to 0-3.
Junior Matt Hendren is fast becoming the Wildcats' hard luck pitcher. He left the first game of the doubleheader with an 8-2 lead but did not pitch the five innings required for a victory. Arizona went on to win the game 17-3 and reliever Jason Frierott (2-0) pitched 4 1/3 innings to get the victory. Diego Rico paced the Wildcats at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Even though it was sunny and bright on Saturday afternoon, a dark cloud hung over the head of Coach Mickey-Miles Felton.
The fact the the men's lacrosse team beat Northern Arizona by an impressive score of 19-5 did not help to ease anything in Felton's mind.
Felton was upset because of how the Laxcats played.
"I am very disappointed because the team is very undisciplined. Everyone is running around doing whatever they want so I do not even know why we have been practicing all week," Felton said.
"The team is very happy because of the score, but we played a team that should not have been on the field."
Some of the Laxcats turned out impressive performances.
Sophomore Bret Withey scored seven goals and Scott Carlin had two goals and five assists.
The all-around impressive and consistent play of goalie Billy Steelman allowed the opposition only five goals in the whole game.
