'Motley' drummer and 'Baywatch' model tie the knot

NEW YORK Ä''Baywatch'' star Pamela Anderson and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee reportedly have married in Mexico, with the bride wearing a white bikini down the aisle.

Lee wore white Bermuda shorts without shoes or shirt at the Sunday ceremony in Cancun, according to tabloid reports in New York.

A call to Anderson's publicist in Los Angeles was not answered early Monday.

The Daily News quoted Judge Pedro Solis as saying, ''The bride wore a very tiny Ä an extremely tiny Ä white bikini.''

Anderson's mother, Carol, told the New York Post from her home in British Columbia that the family was surprised at the wedding. ''We're still in shock,'' she said.

Anderson is a star of the successful syndicated show about the adventures of California lifeguards. The rock band Motley Crue is known for hits such as ''Smoking in the Boys' Room'' and ''Use It or Lose It.''

Anderson had also been seen on the arm of producer Jon Peters, and columnist Liz Smith reported in New York Newsday that Peters was ''slightly stunned.''

Her new husband was once married to another actress, Heather Locklear.

NEW YORK ÄForget the Contract With America. Sen. Alfonse D'Amato is ready to sign a different kind of contract Äwith his sweetheart, TV gossip columnist Claudia Cohen.

''I feel like the frog who has been kissed by the princess,'' the New York Republican gushed Tuesday as he and his fiancee met the media. ''Claudia is my Cinderella.''

Marriage is ''something that is definitely in the future, and in the near future,'' D'Amato said.

It would be the second wedding for both.

The 57-year-old D'Amato, who has been separated for 13 years from his wife, Penelope, has said he hopes to have the marriage annulled.

Cohen, 44, who is a gossip reporter on television's ''Live with Regis and Kathie Lee,'' was married to cosmetics company heir Ronald Perelman.

HARRISBURG, Pa. ÄThere she was, Jan from the original ''Brady Bunch,'' signing autographs at a shopping mall. Must be another promo for the new ''Brady Bunch'' move, right?

Wrong, says Eve Plumb, who has left her pre-teen Brady image behind for an art career and was busy signing prints of her work at the local mall.

Still, the enduring popularity of the television show that first aired in 1969, and the new hit movie featuring a new Brady family, didn't hurt Monday's signing session, which drew a crowd of fans.

Plumb, 36, also acts in a children's TV show called ''Fudge,'' but says she has put her Brady image behind her.

''I think it's harder for other people than it is for me,'' she said. ''I've made the separation.''

MINNEAPOLIS ÄAll the Eagles needed to do was follow the advice in one of their biggest hits: ''Take It Easy.''

The band, whose members once vowed they would reunite when hell froze over, got back together for a 70-concert tour last May, but had to quickly cancel it when Glenn Frey needed colon surgery. They went back on the road last month.

''We needed a break. We were tired,'' fellow Eagle Don Henley said in Tuesday's editions of the Star Tribune.

''On the first leg we were touring and recording at the same time, and we were also planning the TV show. It was too much. It really frayed everyone's nerves.''

SALT LAKE CITY ÄMistaking one of the road crew members for Jerry Garcia might be all but sacrilegious to Grateful Dead fans, but local authorities say it still doesn't justify a punch in the mouth.

Disc jockey Dave ''Crazy Dave'' Bentley said he was only looking to talk to the Grateful Dead legend when he knocked on a hotel room door at 8 a.m. Tuesday and asked the man who answered if he was Garcia.

He said William Grillo responded with an expletive and asked, ''Do I look like Jerry Garcia?'' Then Grillo punched him in the jaw, Bentley said.

Sgt. Lynn Rohlind of the University of Utah police said Grillo, 47, was issued a misdemeanor citation. He faces a maximum $1,000 fine or six months in jail. Grillo did not deny hitting Bentley, Rohlind said.
