Police responded to Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, 503 E. University Blvd., Saturday night after a member reported he saw two other members smoking marijuana in a fraternity room.

Police arrested Marc Gurstel, 20, for possession of drug paraphernalia and Jason Miller, 19, for minor in possession of alcohol when police searched their rooms after the call.

While one member called police, another apparently warned Gurstel and Miller, and when police arrived to Gurstel's room he had incense burning and denied smoking marijuana that night.

Gurstel gave permission to search his room and police found several alcoholic beverages and two small smoking pipes. He was cited and released.

When police interviewed Miller in his room he admitted to smoking marijuana that night in Gurstel's room. Police searched Miller's room and cited him for minor in possession of alcohol.

Two roommates of Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1000 N. Park Ave., told police Saturday they have been receiving harassing phone calls since November.

The students said the caller, who said his name is "Steve," has called almost every day and as many as 20 times a day since November.

They said they decided to report the calls because one of the victims thought she had been followed home from work by "Steve" on Saturday afternoon.

Police have no suspects.
