A 21-year-old student reported the theft of his backpack from the ASUA Bookstore on Thursday.

The student said he left the green Trager backpack unsecured on one of the shelves provided in the bookstore at 9 a.m. When he returned 20 minutes later the backpack was gone, he said.

The backpack and its contents, including a pair of Oakley sunglasses, was valued at $200.

A backpack was reported stolen Thursday from the former Garden Court restaurant in the Park Student Center.

The student said she forgot the brown leather backpack on a seat at the restaurant when she left at 1 p.m. She said she returned two hours later and the backpack was gone. She asked restaurant staff but no one reported seeing the pack.

Contents of the backpack included several textbooks, a calculator and an asthma inhaler. Value of the pack and items was estimated at $182.

Two 18-year-old men were arrested for disorderly conduct and fighting Thursday morning near Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St.

When police arrived at the residence hall Phil Scroggins and Peter Terry, both residents of Kaibab-Huachuca, had already been separated. They admitted to arguing by phone and to continuing the fight physically outside on East Fourth Street.

Scroggins and Terry were cited and released.
