Louie's new hours will have adverse effects

Editor:

I'd just like to convey my disappointment in the Student Union Services for their new decision to close Louie's Lower Level at 3 p.m. every weekday. What was wrong with closing at midnight? Perhaps Jerry Groch (cash operations manager) and Dan Adams (director) would like to explain to me where I'm supposed to eat after 7 p.m. when the Fiddle Fig closes.

I'm an average college student with tons of commitments and I don't have time to eat dinner at "normal hours." And if you think students will just suck it up and eat Domino's and Taco Bell, then you've lost touch with the same students whom you're trying to serve. Also, why oh why did you decide to close Louie's on the weekends? Did you simply assume that we'll all go out, order pizza, or simply starve? Basically, why aren't the Student Union dinning services open for the students who, I'm sure, it was originally developed for in the first place? Jerry and Dan, unless you're going to cook me up something special late at night when I'm hungry, why don't you two reconsider opening Louie's again with extended hours?
