University police took a Tucson man to jail Saturday after discovering warrants for his arrest, police reports stated.
Officers stopped a vehicle at the intersection of North Third Avenue and East Sixth Street at 10:48 p.m.
Police reports neglected to indicate why the officer pulled the car over, who was driving or the type of vehicle.
Officers found an open bottle of wine on the floor of the car.
Timothy J. Ryan Jr., 19, admitted to officers he had taken the bottle of wine from his "parents' wine rack without their knowledge" and opened it to celebrate his friend's birthday, reports stated.
The officer took Ryan, of the 2000 block of East Sixth Street, to Pima County Jail.
His warrants were issued for suspicion of contribution to the delinquency of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor incident, reports stated.
Ryan was released to his father.
Police arrested a Tucson man on suspicion of criminal damage Monday morning after he was seen throwing rocks at street lights, police reports stated.
A Tucson police officer called UAPD to report a man who they had in custody at North Fremont Avenue and East Ninth Street.
The TPD officer told university police a man living on Fremont called Tucson police to report Joseph W. Harvey, 20, was throwing rocks at the lights.
When the TPD officer arrived at 12:11 a.m., he saw Harvey throw a rock, breaking the glass on a light, reports stated.
Harvey, of the 100 block of North Vine Avenue, admitted to police that he threw the rock.
The UAPD officer took Harvey to Pima County Jail where he was released by pre-trial services.
A student called police Monday night after a woman allegedly struck her car and fled, police reports stated.
The student told officers she was driving through the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St., at 11:31 p.m. when the driver of a 1988 white Buick collided into her white 1993 Nissan Sentra, reports stated.
The Buick's driver reportedly struck the student's Sentra on the driver's side door, leaving a small dent and some paint damage on the Nissan.
The student told police she was driving less than 5 mph at the time of the incident.
She refused medical attention, but told police she was a "little sore."
The Buick reportedly left the garage. The student was able to record the license plate of the car, reports stated.
UAPD detectives plan to follow up on the case.
A student called police Monday night after she discovered that her car was gone, police reports stated.
The student told police she parked her white 1993 Nissan Sentra in a UA lot on East First Street and North Mountain Avenue Saturday at 1 p.m. When she returned Monday at 9 p.m., her Sentra was gone.
Police were unable to find any broken glass or evidence of a theft, reports stated.
The student told police her car was locked. She said there was a cellular phone and compact disc player in the vehicle.
Police arrested a student on suspicion of theft of services Monday after a reportedly lost or stolen Zone One parking permit was found in her car, police reports stated.
UA Parking and Transportation Services workers reportedly booted Ryann C. Beaty-Fell's white Jeep after spotting the permit.
Officers went to the parking office and read a document stating the permit had been reported lost or stolen on Jan. 11.
Beaty-Fell, 19, told police she borrowed the permit from a friend that day.
She said it was found in her friend's Phoenix apartment that weekend and it was the first time she had seen the permit since December of 1998, reports stated.
But Parking and Transportation Services records showed Beaty-Fell, of the 1000 block of East First Street, had a parking ticket from Feb. 12 for using the permit.
Police cited the student and released her.
