University police were called to Baskin-Robbins ice cream store, 904 E. University Blvd., after a woman kicked a man in the store.

According to police reports, a man walked into the store 11:05 p.m. Saturday with a lit cigar, waiting for his friend to buy ice cream.

A woman came into the store and told him he shouldn't smoke in the store.

The two people began to argue and the woman kicked the man in his left leg with her right foot, reports stated.

The man told police he didn't want to press charges. Officers noticed a scuff mark on his pants.

No arrests were made, reports stated.


The manager of a cab company told police Saturday morning that one of her ex-employees was seen giving rides to UA students while drunk, police reports stated.

Another cab driver from the same company saw the man pick up four women from a restaurant in his silver 1990 Dodge Spirit Friday at 10 p.m., reports stated.

The man drove the four women to Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fifth St., reports stated.

The employed cab driver followed the man and told his manager the man was swerving and driving in the wrong lane.

According to reports, the manager told police the man becomes violent when he is drunk and she was concerned that he may harm young women on campus.


A student came into UA police headquarters Sunday afternoon crying and asking to talk to someone about his problems.

According to reports, the student came in at 3:41 p.m. and told police he had been trying to contact his parents and sister, but had been unable to reach them.

Officers asked him if he wanted to talk about his problems, but the student refused.

Dispatch at headquarters attempted to contact the student's parents and sister several times without success. The student told police he broke his phone after multiple attempts to reach his parents.

The Mobile Acute Crisis Team went to police headquarters at 4:45 p.m. and spoke with the student and decided he was not a threat to himself, reports stated.

The MAC team took the student out to eat and then to his sister's house.


A student in Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., told police Friday morning her roommate was extremely drunk and needed medical attention.

Police arrived at 3:39 a.m. and found the woman sitting on the bathroom toilet seat with her jeans on. Her roommate told the officer she had urinated in her pants, police reports stated.

The intoxicated student also had vomit covering her torso and the bathroom floor. She was incoherent and unable to speak with the officer.

Her roommate told police she had consumed 10 shots of Tequila, reports stated.

The Tucson Fire Department took the student to the University Medical Center to be treated.


Police arrested a student Wednesday on suspicion of theft after security guards at the UA Associated Student's Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd., saw the man walk out with a pair of sunglasses, police reports stated.

Michael Benton Adler, 21, of the 1100 block of North Wilson Avenue, was seen by the sunglass rack. A security guard saw Adler take a pair of glasses and walk away.

According to reports, Adler ripped a tag off the glasses and walked up to the cashier to pay for another item.

Adler left the store and was followed and detained by a security guard until police could arrive.

Adler agreed to fill out a voluntary statement. In the statement he wrote, "I took the sunglasses at 11:50 a.m. Sorry," reports stated.

Officers cited Adler and released him. He was also told not to return to the bookstore.


A Tucson man was detained Friday night because of warrants from Pima County Sheriff's Department for driving on a suspended license, misconduct with a weapon and unlawful use of alcohol, police reports stated.

Police were in the Texaco Star Mart parking lot at the intersection of East Sixth Street and North Park Avenue 10:30 p.m., when they saw a car make an illegal turn.

Officers stopped the car at the intersection of East Seventh Street and North Park Avenue. The woman driving the car told police she didn't have a driver license, but her passenger, Jason Pageau, 21, of the 100 block of West Hoff Avenue, did have one, reports stated.

Police checked Pageau's identification and confirmed three active warrants.

Pageau was taken to Pima County Jail and booked.
