Did you hear that? Sounds like live music... aha! It's another Eat to the Beat production! The featured artist for today's production of the Concert Series is Stripping Faith, cosponsored by KAMP Student Radio. They will be strutting their musical stuff on the Mall today from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., so grab your lunch and come listen.

Get your weekly dose of faculty wisdom this afternoon at the Building Academic Community Speaker Series. George H. Davis, coordinator of the Faculty Fellows Program and Regents professor in the department of geosciences, will be taking you "From Zion to Bryce and Beyond" at 12:15 p.m. The journey begins in Gallagher Theatre - don't forget to pack a lunch! Contact Sue Robison at 621-4700 for more information.

Stressed? Tired? Take an ArtBreak! Bailey Doogan, featured faculty artist, will present and discuss her exhibit at 12:15 p.m. in the UA Museum of Art. The show is entitled "A Survey of Drawings: 1988-1998" - pretty self-explanatory. Call the museum at 621-7567 for details.

What, exactly, can one do with electrochemical microscopy? Find out firsthand today at the Chemistry Seminar in Room 218 of the Chemical and Biological Sciences building. Joey Robertson, UA graduate student, will discuss "Scanning Electrochemical Spectroscopy: Application to Studies of Liquid/Liquid Interfaces and Membranes" at 4 p.m. If you have questions, Jeanne Pemberton has answers at 621-8245.

If current popular American cinema just doesn't drive you to deep thought and intellectual discussion, then scan Room 202 of the Family and Consumer Resources building for a seat this afternoon. "N is a Number," a film documenting the quirky life and career of mathematician Paul Erdoes, will be showing from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. John L. Leonard can fill you in on the rest at 621-6874.

Having a hard time adding on to your already lengthy papers? Kendra Gaines, of the Writing Skills Improvement Program, can give you a hand this evening from 5 to 6. She'll be holding an interactive seminar on "Writing and Reading Abstracts and Annotated Bibliographies" in Room 310 of the Modern Languages building as part of the Writing About Literature Workshops series. Call Donna Rabuck at 621-5849 for more information.

Rather listen to others' words than write your own? Come to the Poetry Reading tonight at 8 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium. Award-winning fiction writer, Geoffrey Becker will be reading selected passages from his new (and first) novel, Bluestown. An informal reception will follow each reading. Give the people at the Poetry Center a call at 321-7760 if you need more information.

OK, so perhaps literary entertainment isn't your style. Why not go for stand-up comedy instead? Mark Eddie, rock comic, will be performing tonight at 8. Take a seat in the Senior Ballroom in the Student Union for $4 and prepare to laugh until it hurts. Eddie will be hamming it up with song parodies, impressions and who knows what else. Rising Star Entertainment is sponsoring this event. Call 621-5779 for details.
