As an alternative to tackling them on their way to class, UA athletes are offering you the chance to meet them Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wildcat Sports Experience. Show up at the Bear Down Field for interactive games, autographs and the opportunity to take your picture with various UA sports stars. What better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than at the opera? Make your weekend an experience in musical culture by getting tickets for the UA Opera's matinee showing of The Barber of Seville. Composed by Gioacchino Rossini, the opera was originally sung in Italian, but Charles Roe (stage director) and Jindong Cai (music director and conductor of UA Opera Theater) have arranged for it to be performed in English. The show is presented by the UA School of Music and Dance, and curtains will rise on the Crowder Hall stage at 3 p.m. Call the Fine Arts Box Office at 621-1162 for ticket information.
