Reduce, reuse, recycle: Today is America Recycles Day! In addition to placing your trash in the correct receptacle, why don't you stop by the UA Recycling Department's table on the UA Mall today and fill out a recycling pledge card? Department members will be there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Melissa Enrico can tell you more at 621-5975.

Get the demographics on sexually transmitted diseases today at the Department of Geo-graphy and Regional Development Collo-quium. Co-sponsored by the Committee on Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual Studies, the lecture will tackle "Perverse Geographies and Sexual Contaminations: Race, Sex and Syphilis in California" from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Susan Craddock (UA Depart-ment of Women's Studies) and Nayan Shah (Depart-ment of History, SUNY-Binghamton) will speak in Room 404 of the Harvill Building. More in-formation is available by calling the UA Department of Geo-graphy and Regional Development at 621-1652.

Kinda like baseball, kinda not: The Pakistan Students Association is sponsoring a UA Cricket Tournament tonight. Four teams will battle it out at Bear Down Field starting at 6 p.m. Contact Mohammad Nawaz at 887-6288 for more information.

Bedtime stories await you from 7 to 9 tonight in the Center for English as a Second Language Auditorium. The Arizona State Museum is sponsoring this Roots of Culture event, titled "A Storytelling Festival for Families." At the nominal cost of $6 for adults and $4 for children, you can hear tales of wisdom and myth from the perspective of animals and the mouths of children. Call 621-6302 for further information.

Beware of black cats and propped-up ladders, but make your way to the Cellar tonight at 8 for a special University Activities Board's Films Committee presentation. The original "Friday the 13th" is being screened tonight (for free, mind you) to honor the unluckiest day of the year. Rumor has it that a certain hockey-masked serial killer will be - well - miffed if you don't show up. Perhaps it would be in your best interest to call UAB at 621-8046 for the gory details.

The spirit of Liza Minnelli reigns supreme in the Marroney Theatre! The Arizona Repertory Theatre is presenting a sneak preview of its adaptation of the novel Cabaret at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Richard T. Hanson brings the Kit Kat Club to smoky, decadent life for the price of only $10 per person. Quite cheap, especially for the naughty witticism of the Master of Ceremonies. Contact the Fine Arts Box Office at 621-1162 for seating information.

Sick of not being able to find a parking space on campus? Then voice your opinion, damn it! Parking and Transportation Services will be holding a public meeting Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 256 of the Student Union. Another meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17 at noon in Dining Room D of the Arizona Health Sciences Center. Contact Marlis J. Davis at 621-3550 for details.
