Gasoline costs enough these days - why waste it looking for a place to park at school? Well, because you have to. That could change, though, if you attend the Parking & Transportation Sympo-sium scheduled to take place from noon to 1 p.m. in Dining Room D of the Arizona Health Sciences Center. The Parking & Transportation Advisory Committee invites you to throw them accolades or linguistic rotten tomatoes (whichever you prefer) on the UA's current vehicle accommodations. Contact Marlis Davis at 621-3550 for more information.

See where the current popular swing bands got their inspiration at today's Center Stage Perfor-mance. From 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., these dancers will put you "In the Mood" for "The Boogie Woogie 40s" with such classics as "Chattanooga Choo-Choo" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." The performance is free and will be held in the DuVal Auditorium of the Arizona Health Sciences Center. Call Nancy Guthrie at 626-7301 for more info.

From "Arachnophobia" to "Charlotte's Web": Check out the generational development of your favorite little web-spinner today at the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Noon Seminar. Marshal Hedind will give you "Phylogenetic Insights into Spider Evolution" in Room 237 of the Biological Sciences West building.

Are the dysfunctional cactus garden fountain and recent additions of steel fencing leaving you, at the least, uninspired? What would you do to give this place a face lift? Tell The Man today from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Open Mall Forum. The event will focus on Redevelopment and Construction Updates, and they will specifically address the building of Integrated Learning Center. Be in Room 282 of the Memorial Student Union to give your input.

Feel the heat of Blackfire tonight as part of American Indian Cultural Celebration Week. A "traditionally influenced, high-energy, politically driven group," Blackfire will be making sparks fly on the main stage of the UA Mall at 7 p.m. This event is has been scheduled to exemplify the theme of this year's festival: "Celebrating Native Diversity and Linking the Generations."

Can you pat your stomach and rub your head at the same time? The members of Syrjahyppy can - they are a Body Percussion Group, which means that they make their music by music by touching parts of their anatomy rhythmically or by stomping their feet in harmony. In fact, the group's name means "a sidestep from movement to music." The dance division of the UA School of Music and Dance is presenting this performance, which will occur at 7:30 p.m. in the Dance Theater at the Ina E. Gittings Building. Call the dance division at 621-4698 for ticket information.

Determined to bring you the lighter side of everything, the University Activities Board's Films Committee will be making you smile at 1970s Blaxploitation films tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Cellar. For no fee at all, you can catch Keenan Ivory Wayans at his farcical best in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka."
