December is creeping up faster than you may realize, and with this calendar change comes, for some, well-deserved graduation. Peruse the Joseph Gross Gallery's "Intent and Process" Exhibition today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and be visually pleased by the diverse works produced by graduating seniors in the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program. An opening reception will follow the showing in the gallery tonight from 5 to 7. Call the gallery at 626-4215 for more info.

Enough said: "But-tocks, Bowels, Belly Aches and Bandages" is the theme of UA student Greg Porcaro's MFA thesis - his accom-panying paintings and prints will be on display at the Lionel Rombach Gallery today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit him at the opening reception afterward from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the gallery. Robyn Betchner can give you the details at 626-4215.

Eager young students, you are running out of time! Today marks the second-to-last fascinating lecture in the Building Academic Community Speaker Series. Rest your behind while you exercise your mind in Gallagher Theatre, where Richard Hallick (professor, UA Department of Biochemistry) will explain "DNA Evidence in Criminal Trials" at 12:15 p.m. Contact Sue Robison at 621-4700 for further information.

The Native American Resource Center has planned myriad activities to help you participate in American Indian Cultural Celebration Week. First, the Jones Benally Dance Troupe will perform traditional American Indian dances on the main stage of the UA Mall at noon. Walk a few steps south to the Native American Resource Center to visit members of this troupe and also of Blackfire (who performed yesterday) at the Open House. End your evening at 6 by watching the Miss Native American UA Pageant in the Kiva Auditorium of the Education building. How do these events relate? They all fit the theme of the festivity: "Celebrating Native Diversity and Linking the Generations." Call 621-9217 for the specifics.

Mutations and contortions fill the screen in Room 202 of the Family and Consumer Resources building this afternoon from 4 to 5. The UA Mathematics Department is offering you a chance to watch brilliant people in the math field as they explain how to turn a sphere inside out in four-dimensional space and how knot theory and hyperbolic space interact to produce the complement of said knot. The films are aptly titled "Outside-In" and "Not-Knot," respectively. The added bonus is a short film on Galloping Gertie, "the Tacoma Narrows bridge that shook itself to death." Direct queries to John Leonard at 621-6874.
