A university police officer overseeing a party Saturday night chased a student he saw stumbling around near campus, police reports stated.

The officer saw David A. Hayes, a resident of Cochise Hall, 1018 South Campus Drive, at the west side of the Park Student Union, 615 N. Park Ave.

According to reports, the officer saw Hayes, 18, riding a yellow bicycle going east on Fifth Street approaching North Tyndall Avenue.

Hayes lifted the bike on to the sidewalk and attempted to go north on Tyndall, but he couldn't control the bike and dropped it on the ground, reports stated.

The officer noticed Hayes was stumbling. He attempted to approach and speak to Hayes, but Hayes looked over his shoulder and then began to walk away from the officer at a fast pace, reports stated.

Hayes walked north toward Fourth Street and the officer told him to stop. Hayes continued to ignore police, so the officer said, "I am a police officer and am telling you to stop right there," reports stated.

Hayes continued to walk at a rapid pace, so the officer began to chase after him and told him to get on the ground. Hayes finally stopped and spoke to the officer, reports stated.

The officer noted Hayes appeared intoxicated and disoriented. When the officer asked Hayes about the bike he left on the ground, Hayes said he didn't know anything about a bike.

Hayes told police he had, "two beers," and that police, "had the wrong person," reports stated.

Police brought the bike to Hayes, but he insisted he hadn't been riding the bike and said to the officer, "I'm gonna write you up mother fucker," reports stated. Hayes later told police he had consumed several beers at a party and he didn't know how he got the bike or where he had been drinking.

Police took Hayes to Pima County Jail, where he was released by Pretrial Services.

A student called police Monday evening after another student came into his room and harassed him, police reports stated.

The student told police he was in his room at Cochise Residence Hall, 1018 South Campus Drive, at 2:45 p.m. when a resident of Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., came into his room and began arguing with him. The student said he told the man to leave, but he refused, and they had an argument concerning the Arizona-Sonora resident's girlfriend.

According to reports, the student told police the Arizona-Sonora resident grabbed him by the neck, pushed him up against the wall and threatened to kill him.

The student's roommate was present at the time of the confrontation and his story was consistent with the reporting student's.

The roommate also said the Arizona-Sonora resident returned to their room at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., reports stated.

Police questioned the Arizona-Sonora resident, who admitted to going over there and pushing him. The officer warned him that if he went back he could be arrested for trespassing.

A student called police Monday afternoon after her shirts began to disappear from her closet, police reports stated.

The Arizona-Sonora resident told police that starting Oct. 1, shirts from her room began to vanish one by one. The student told officers six shirts in all were taken, reports stated.

According to reports, the student later found each shirt left in the laundry room and ruined by bleach stains.

The student told police she didn't suspect her roommate and said she always locks her door.

She also told police the only people with keys to her room are the resident assistants and maintenance workers. She said she hasn't received any harassing calls or notes but is willing to prosecute, reports stated.

A Tucson man was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession early Monday morning after police noticed he was intoxicated.

Police made contact with Rodriguez, who smelled of alcohol, reports stated.

When police asked him if he had anything illegal on him, he said, "I have a bag of weed in my front pocket," reports stated.

The officer found the baggie of suspected marijuana, cited him and took him home.
