A UA employee called police Wednesday morning after he noticed a mounted fish had been stolen, police reports stated.

The employee told police the $1,200 fiberglass fish was on the wall of the Biological Sciences East building, 1330 South Campus Drive, when he last checked Nov. 16 at noon.

The employee told police he was in the building again Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. when he noticed the fish was missing, reports stated.

He told police there were no signs of forced entry and many people have access to the room. He said he did not know who might have taken the fish.


Two university students were arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of possession and use of fireworks after police saw bottle rockets shoot out from an apartment window, police reports stated.

An officer was driving north on North Euclid Avenue near East Second Street at 10:54 p.m. when he saw the fireworks launch from a ground-level apartment at 931 N. Euclid.

According to reports, the officer saw a man light and shoot a bottle rocket into a parking garage directly across the street from the apartment.

After more police arrived, the officer went to the apartment and knocked on the door.

Peter Philibert Harris, 18, answered the door and officers saw two packs of fireworks inside, reports stated.

Harris' roommate, Cole Jacob Dahn, 18, told the officer he got the fireworks from Harris' dad and that he didn't know it was illegal to have fireworks in Arizona, reports stated.

Police told Harris and Dahn fireworks were illegal in Arizona and shooting them into a garage was also unlawful, reports stated.

Police cited the two students and released them. The fireworks were taken into evidence.


Police arrested a teen-ager Thursday afternoon on suspicion of loitering after she was seen begging for money, police reports stated.

Officers saw Sarah R. Lane, 15, of Ipswich, N.H., standing next to a bank ATM machine at 11:43 a.m. near East University Boulevard and North Park Avenue.

According to reports, Lane was hanging around and asking people for money. Officers told Lane it was illegal to loiter and discovered she was a reported runaway from New Hampshire.

Officers contacted the Ipswich Police Department and Lane's mother, reports stated.

Lane was cited and taken to Pima County Juvenile Detention Center. Lane's mother told police she was in the process of getting airline tickets to Tucson to pick up her daughter.


Police arrested a student on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol Nov. 22 after he was seen stumbling to his car, police reports stated.

According to reports, two student volunteer officers saw Nhan Trong Nguyen, 23, get out of a car at 12:33 a.m. and stagger to his maroon Honda Accord, parked near Coronado Residence Hall, 822 East Fifth St.

The two student officers said Nguyen, of the 2400 block of East Eastland St., was having a hard time walking and refused his friends' offers to drive him. The students took down Nguyen's license plate number and notified police, reports stated.

Police stopped Nguyen at North Tyndall Avenue and East Sixth Street. According to reports, Nguyen would not submit to field sobriety tests and was argumentative with police.

Nguyen was taken to UAPD headquarters, cited and dropped off at home.


A Parking and Transportation Services employee called police Tuesday afternoon after catching a student with someone else's parking permit, police reports stated.

The employee told police the student tried to park in the Second Street Garage at 1 p.m. with a permit that had been reported lost.

According to reports, the employee confiscated the permit and another one she found in the student's possession.

The employee told police she later found both the permits were the student's roommate's, reports stated.

The student told officers his roommate had left town for Thanksgiving that morning and he was using his permit to park, reports stated.

The student also told police his roommate would be back Nov. 30.

The employee told police she did not want to press charges and told the student he and his roommate could pick up the permits Nov. 30, reports stated.
