ABOR expected to approve dorm rate increase

Pending Arizona Board of Regents approval today, UA students living in the dorms next year may have to pay about $205 more for their rooms.
University of Arizona Director of Residence Life James Van Arsdel said over the past few years, annual rate increases have been between two and three percent - however, he added next year's 7.6 percent jump is not a record high either.

Importance of rankings should not be overestimated

Earlier this week, U.S. News and World Report announced its annual rankings of graduate schools in all fields. The University of Arizona's programs in Management Information Systems was ranked fifth, the programs in speech and language pathology, as well as that in audiology, was ranked sixth and the master's program in creative writing was ranked ninth.

International Film Festival to feature students' work

Alongside more than 100 other contributors, some UA affiliated filmmakers will showcase their production talents during the Ninth Annual Arizona International Film Festival.
Media arts senior Zach Keyworth and 1994 University of Arizona media arts graduate Troy LaFaye both have submissions in the festival, which will be screened at the "Movies at Midnite" this weekend and next.
