Freshmen have the perfect opportunity to learn their way around campus with the Wildcat Welcome 2000 scavenger hunt. Participants will explore the campus with fellow students in an effort to win free football and UApresents tickets. Interested parties should pick up a play card on the Mall between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Drop Andrea Tellez a line at 621-9024 for all the details.

Take a break between classes with a lesson in yoga. Wildcat Welcome 2000 will sponsor activities such as Middle Eastern dance, Capoeira demonstrations and putting contests from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UA Mall. Munch on free snow cones while catching up with old friends. Mindy Griffith can answer all of your questions if you give her a call at 621-0767.

Here's your chance to land a free dinner while learning a little more about your campus. Wildcat Night at the Rec Center will showcase the 38 clubs on campus, and the first 400 people through the doors will get free Papa John's pizza. Activities will include blackjack, 3-point/free throw contests, trivia games and martial arts demonstrations. Be at the Rec Center by 6 p.m. to guarantee yourself some free food, or call Juliette Moore at 621-8707 for more info.

After you snag yourself a free slice of Papa John's, head over to the other side of the Rec Center to watch a free viewing of "Back to School" while you take an evening dip. The movie starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Center pool.

The Joseph Gross Gallery kicks off a new school year with a Harold Jones exhibit, "Seeing Sixty." Jones documents four decades of work as an artist, photographer and educator in this presentation which showcases artistically historical underpinnings common to his work. The gallery is located in the fine arts complex at North Park Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard. Use your life experience to prevent children from dropping out of school. The College Bound Program sends college students to elementary schools to talk to 5th graders about going to college, which reduces adolescent crime rates. Once the five week program is completed, the students you mentor will visit the UA campus for a taste of college life.
