A modern, politically fueled romance illustrates the drama of oppression at today's International Arts Society film screening of "Carla's Song." Set in 1987, this Scottish courtship between two lovers torn by suicide and fear demonstrates the problems caused by refugees and political asylum. March is Meteorite Month and the Flandrau Center is celebrating with a special presentation, "A Tour Through Time on a Meteorite...4 1/2 Billion Years of Solar System History." The lecture explores the causes of meteorites and their impacts on the surface of the earth. Dr. David King will discuss the changing solar system in his 5:30 p.m. lecture in the Flandrau Science Center. For more information on other activities at the center, including the "Flandrau Rocks! The Internet can be used for creating Web sites, checking e-mail and now breathing life into a dying language. As a part of their endangered languages series, the linguistic department is holding a 2 p.m. seminar entitled, "The Web-Based Native American Dictionary Project." The discussion will provide students and faculty with information on the project and the advancements that have been made in preserving Native American languages in the past. The Arizona State Museum is having an open house tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If the sudden rise in temperatures has got you seeking the air conditioning, come on down for a free tour of more than 100 displays featuring southwestern paintings and artifacts. Baseball fans, grab your caps and head on down to Sancet Field for UA's 1 p.m. game tomorrow against the University of Southern California. The first 500 fans through the gates of the conference game will receive a free 22- oz. mug with complementary Pepsi refills from Old Chicago. Controversy cannot be placed on the back burner as Arizona's Repertory Theater continues to run, "Angels in America Part One: Millennium Approaches" at the Marroney Theater.
