Summer is approaching, and as the temperature rises and the layers come off, the deadline for scoring that ideal internship or summer job is coming closer. Fuji Color will be on the Mall today looking for business students to fill full- and part-time jobs throughout the summer. Get your friends and teachers on your side by attending today's 5 p.m. Weekly Writing Workshop, "The Persuasive Essay." This free lecture will provide you with the information and techniques necessary in creating a cohesive and constructive argumentative paper. The workshop will be held in Modern Languages Room 204 and will last about an hour. A question and answer period will be available for students immediately following the lecture. Children often carry an innocent insight into the world that older students have lost along the way. Get in touch with your inner child at today's 7 p.m. Poetry Center Reading Series, "ArtsReach Reading." The presentation will feature Native American students from local Tucson schools as well as from surrounding reservations. The event is sponsored by ArtsReach, a nonprofit organization which promotes writing improvement programs, and will take place in the Modern Languages auditorium. The Africana Studies department pays homage to women of past generations with today's Black History Month Series lecture, "African-American Mid-Wives 1900-1940." African studies adjunct lecturer Kelena Reid Maxwell will lead a discussion on the role of women in the 1900s and their changing role as we moved into the next century. Many children and adults go to bed every night with pangs of hunger plaguing their dreams. Project Volunteer and Education by Example present the annual Hunger Banquet today at 5 p.m. to address the concerns of world hunger.
