Senior gymnast Kara Fry performs at a meet March 11 at McKale Center. Fry and junior Randi Liljenquist will represent the UA gymnastics team at the NCAA Championships tomorrow.

From Staff and wire reports

Wildcat gymnasts Kara Fry and Randi Liljenquist will represent the rest of their team when they travel to Athens, Ga. to compete in the NCAA Gymnastics Championships tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Fry has the momentum she needs after being named to the 2001 All-Pac-10 team in the all-around Friday. The senior is the only UA gymnast to be named to the Pacific 10's All-Conference team this season.

Fry has won 12 individual event championships this year, including four all-around titles.

Fry - who took her first trip to Nationals during her freshman year - has competed in 50 consecutive meets dating back to the first meet she competed in during her freshman season.

She was also named 2001 South Central Region Gymnast of the Year following the NCAA Regionals April 7. For her second trip to Nationals, Fry will be the No. 3 seed in the all-around competition.

Teammate Randi Liljenquist, who qualified for the floor competition, will accompany Fry to Nationals.

Both girls will rotate with other teams because the Arizona program did not make Nationals after falling short at the Pacific 10 Championships two weeks ago.
