Expand your horizons and your mind at today's Falun Gong exhibition on the UA Mall between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Take a moment to learn about the ancient yoga exercise and the religious and political controversy surrounding it. This introduction to Falun Gong and its banishment from China by the Chinese government is sponsored by the UA Falun Gong Club, and the event is free and open to the public. Does your cultural or geographical background affect whether you recycle bottle cans or throw gum wrappers out your car window? The Africana Studies department and the Native American Activities Board is sponsoring a discussion on "Indigenous vs. Non-Indigenous Values: Walking in Harmony with Mother Earth" today at noon in the Memorial Student Union Tucson room. Guest speakers will include Mala Spotted Eagle Pope, who has spoken out against nuclear testing and uranium mining in the past. Grab your highlighter and crack open your books because it is time to prepare for your final exams. Today's Weekly Writing Workshop, "Preparing for the Final," begins at 5 p.m. in Modern Languages building, Room 204. Instructors will introduce students to preparation techniques including note reviewing, memorization and group study. This is part of the free semester-long series sponsored by the Writing Skills Improvement Program and is open to students of all majors. Take a study break and listen to the poetry works of UA Creative Writing graduate students and community members tonight at 8 in the Modern Languages building auditorium. Featured poets will include Periel Aschenbrand, Julian Billups, Carolyn Hembree, Allison Moore, Jesse Seldess and Matthew Shenoda. An informal reception will follow the presentation, and the audience is invited to stay and speak with the authors.
