The UA Dance Division takes the stage one more time at tonight's 7:30 informal concert in the Ina Gittings Dance Theater. The students are taking their "Last Chance to Dance" literally and closing the year with a performance showcasing the divisions 2000-2001 feats. With the semester coming to a close and finals well on their way, the Writing Improvement program has devoted its free seminar to "Preparing for the Final Exam." Today's Writing About Literature Workshop will focus on preparation techniques, including memorization, note review and group study. The seminar will take place in the Modern Languages building, Room 413, at 5 p.m. This seminar is open to students of all majors. For more information, call Donna Rabuck at 621-5849.
Before you leave Tucson for the sunny skies of Los Angeles or the humid nights in Seattle, stop by the Arizona State Museum and learn a little bit of Tucson's history. The current exhibit, "Portraits in Cloth: Tohono O'odham Quilts of Goldie Richmond," delves into the work and art of the Arizona native. The exhibit features quilts and doilies made to represent pieces of the Tohono O'odham history. For more information, call 621-6302.
Learn to express yourself through art, or simply pick up a few pointers about the industry at the Lionel Rombach Gallery Exhibition, "Visual Communications 2001." This exhibit features student work in the areas of graphic design, illustration and computer-related 2-D art. The "Flandrau Rocks! Minerals, Meteorites and Mining" show at the Flandrau Science Center has been held over through May. The center celebrates Meteorite Month with video presentations, interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities for visitors. Special features also include the Dig-It Mine Dump and the "Crystal Construction Zone." Show tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children ages 3-13. With commencement exercises for graduating seniors just around the corner, some students are finding that they have procrastinated on their graduate duties long enough.
