Hey students, listen up! The following information could save you a giant headache, as well as hundreds of dollars. Today is the deadline for several things related to your academic record. First, today is the last day of the semester to drop classes and have them deleted from your record. Beginning tomorrow, you will not be able to use RSVP to do this, meaning you will need at least one instructor's signature. Also, today is the final day for you to file a Grade Replacement Opportunity from for the fall semester. After today, you'll have to wait until the spring to change that 'D' from last semester. Lastly, today is your last chance to change your grade from pass/fail to a regular grade with only the instructor's signature.

To honor a longtime University of Arizona employee who passed away Aug. 21, the Arizona Health Sciences Center is holding a memorial service this morning for Carol Gilbert. Gilbert worked for 24 years at the institution, most notably as its financial coordinator. The service runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Arizona Cancer Center's Kiewit Auditorium, room 2951. Call 626-6177 for more information.

It's Friday. You ain't got no job, you ain't got nothing to do. Nothing, except head down to the Memorial Student Union's Cellar for Comedy Corner. The one-hour event, which begins at noon, is sponsored by UAB Presents and features some of the funniest - and wackiest - skits you can imagine.

If comedy isn't your cup of tea, perhaps you're looking for a more intellectual group of people to spend your lunch hour with. Well, fret not because the department of sociology has just the answer for you. From noon to 1:15, UA professor Ted Gerber gives his lecture, "Some Singularities of Post Soviet Stratification" as a part of the department's "Brown Bag Lecture Series." The speech is in Social Science, room 415. For more information about the series, call Gisela Aaron at 621-3531.
