Wildcat Welcome 2000 continues today with a concert on the UA Mall. Big Foot will be on hand to entertain you during lunch hour while you munch on some free grub. Vending and activities start at 10 this morning and continue until 3 p.m., so you've got all day to join in the fun. Drop Mindy Griffith a line at 621-0767 if you'd like more information about the welcome back activities.

If you joined yesterday's scavenger hunt don't forget to turn your play cards in today. Plus you get free prizes such as free tickets to football games and UA Presents events just for participating. Contact Juliette Moore at 621-8707 or stop by the Mall today between 4 and 5 p.m. to claim your prizes.

Help the Center for Creative Photography celebrate its 25th anniversary with a presentation chronicling the institution's growth, where you'll have a chance to see images from the past quarter century of photography. While there, check out the presentation showcasing acquisitions since 1996. The exhibit will be displayed until Sept. 17, so be sure to stop by during a class break.

Take a couple minutes out of your day to give someone else a chance at life. The Red Cross blood drive kicks off tomorrow on the Mall at 9 a.m. Give Carol Watkins a call at 917-2825 to schedule your appointment.

Take a break from your homework to gaze at the stars. Flandrau Planetarium will be sponsoring a program to check out the nature of the sun and other stars in the galaxy from the historical perspective of Aristotle, Galileo and Herschel to the recent discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope. The talk starts at 8 p.m. so get there early to reserve your seat.

Stop by the UA Museum of Art for Lewis Alquist's "Hot Art" exhibit. Alquist displays radioactive fiestaware, dishes that contains radioactive material, next to geiger counters to measure the exact amount of radioactivity. The demonstrations will continue until Sept. 23. The museum is open weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m. Give the good people at the art museum a call at 621-7567 for answers to any inquires.
