Last week, there was a drag show on the UA Mall, and today is indeed Coming Out Day, so we at the Wildcat would feel really bad about ourselves if we did not take this opportunity to recommend some fabulous drag-themed movies in order to celebrate the festive day.

"To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" (1995) presents Wesley Snipes and Patrick Swayze as Miss Noxeema Jackson and Miss Vida Boheme, two drag queens whose Cadillac breaks down in a small town in the middle of nowhere during their Los Angeles-bound trek.

"The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" (1994) is a another wordily titled drag flick that features more touch-guy actors (Terence Stamp and "L.A. Confidential"'s Guy Pearce) as drag queens on a road trip - this time across the Australian desert.

Back before Patrick Swayze even knew how to apply eyeliner properly, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis were discovering their feminine sides in the comedy "Some Like it Hot" (1959) as two men who run from the mob by dressing as women.

Happy renting.
