After being accused of making anti-Semitic and sexually harassing phone calls, a student was cited at a campus residence hall Thursday morning, police reports stated.
A resident at the Hopi Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fourth St., spoke to her resident assistant after she received disturbing phone calls. The residents assistant spoke with her, and Jason Powell, 18, the resident who placed the phone calls. Powell became furious after being accused of making the phone calls. He stormed out of the meeting yelling and screaming.
Witnesses saw him pull posters off the wall and scream "You try to get an education...F--k you, F--k this. Throw me out, I want to transfer anyway," reports stated.
University officers were called to the scene and spoke with both parties. The resident who received the calls told police that the caller used an electronically disguised voice and said offensive things. The caller said "Hello, would you like to suck on my penis." He also told the resident "she needed a nose job," and "had a shylock snot box," reports stated.
The resident also told police that she believed Powell made the phone calls in retaliation for her threatening to castrate him earlier in the semester, reports stated. She told officers that she just wanted the phone calls to stop.
Powell was cited and released for suspicion of disorderly conduct, reports stated.
A naked man was arrested Thursday evening at a campus building, reports stated.
Employees at the Law Library, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd., called police after they saw a naked man walking around the library. Police went to the library and saw Loren Olsen, 20, of the 1300 block of N. Park Ave., lying on his back completely naked.
Police told Olsen to roll onto his stomach. Police cuffed him and wrapped a sweatshirt around his genitals, reports stated. He refused to answer any police questions.
Employees told police that they saw "everything." Olsen told employees "I'm naked, so what?" Employees were disturbed by this and felt threatened, reports stated.
Olsen's clothing was found in a locked room inside the library. It is unknown how Olsen got into the room. He was arrested and taken to Pima County Jail on suspicion of indecent exposure to the third degree and interfering with an educational institution, reports stated.
A portable radio was stolen from the information desk inside a campus building Thursday night, reports stated.
An employee at the Memorial Student Union called, 1303 E. University Blvd., called police after she saw a woman take a radio from the information desk. She also told officers that the woman left the union westbound.
Police caught up to a woman matching the suspect's description. She gave officers the wrong name and denied any knowledge of the stolen radio. She later identified herself as Yvonne Davis, 21, of the 1300 block of North Park Avenue, reports stated. Davis then gave officers the radio and told them that she found it on the ground.
Officers transported the witness to the scene. She identified Davis as the woman who stole the radio. The manager at the information desk told officers that she did not want to press charges.
Davis was placed into the Dean of Students diversion program for giving false information to a police officer, reports stated.
An employee called police after a UA owned house was vandalized and possibly broken into, reports stated.
A grounds keeper at the Prince Farms, 2831 N. Freeway Ave., called police after he saw a broken window in one of the buildings on the farm. The building was an unoccupied house. The employee told officers that he last inspected the house about two weeks ago. He called police immediately after he noticed damage done to the window of the main door.
Police inspected the damage and went inside the house to see if there was anybody still in the house. Police were unable to find anyone in the house, or any other damages to the property. The employee told officers that nothing was missing from the house.
Police took photographs of the damage. There are no suspects and no witness at this time.
